Approximately 140 students from nine area high schools competed in the regional Academic Challenge on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Lincoln Land Community College.

�� celebrates Women’s History Month in March

Lincoln Land Community College will honor Women’s History Month throughout March with a series of events celebrating women’s achievements, leadership and impact. This year’s national theme, “Leading the Change,” recognizes women who have shaped history and those who continue to champion progress in our communities. All events are free and open to the public and will take place in A. Lincoln Commons on ��’s Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.

Fifth grade students will demonstrate their way to “Move a Car” in an engineering competition as �� hosts the 19th annual Springfield Area Engineer in the Classroom, a Rube Goldberg Showcase, on Saturday, March 7.

��-Jacksonville offering industrial tech certificate

Starting in August 2026, Lincoln Land Community College in Jacksonville will launch a hands-on industrial technology certificate program designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in industrial maintenance. The program is open to the public, and ��-Jacksonville is partnering with Jacksonville Public Schools to offer the program as a College Now opportunity, allowing Jacksonville High School students to earn both high school and college credit.
